What does a status check tell me?+
It shows available relationship information reported by a matching account on Taken. A matching face doesn’t prove identity, and a reported status isn’t a guarantee of someone’s real-world relationship status. If no account is found, Taken can’t confirm their status.
Do I need to verify before using Taken?+
You can sign in with Apple, Google or email and explore Home, Messages and Profile. Identity verification is required before running status checks. Follow the in-app selfie and ID steps; repeated unsuccessful attempts go to manual review.
How does Discover work?+
Complete your Discover profile with the required information and photos, then explore and swipe. Mutual likes create a match. A paid subscription is required to appear in Discover while you’re in a relationship.
Who can I message?+
Mutual Discover matches can chat without paying for an introduction. Paid users can send one introduction to an eligible person they’ve checked, then wait for a reply before sending more. Existing conversations continue normally.
What happens to unused checks?+
Plan checks are available during their allowance period and expire at its end. The app shows your remaining checks and next reset or expiry. Earned extra checks stay available and are used after plan checks.
Can I earn an extra check?+
Invite a friend: once they complete approved identity verification and their Discover profile, you both receive one extra check. A rewarded video may also offer one extra check when an ad is available. Conditions apply.
How do I manage my account or subscription?+
Use Profile → Privacy & Security to deactivate or request permanent account deletion. Manage or cancel an Apple subscription in your Apple Account settings. Account deletion does not cancel a subscription. Contact support@taken.dating if you need help.
