About these terms
These terms govern the Taken mobile app and taken.dating website, operated by Taken.dating LLC (“Taken,” “we,” or “us”). By using Taken, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms do not limit rights that applicable consumer law gives you.
Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 13 to use Taken, or meet a higher minimum age where required in your region. Provide accurate account information, keep your login secure, and use only an account you are entitled to access. You are responsible for activity through your account. Apple, Google, or email sign-in may be available; availability can vary by release. You may browse available account features without facial verification, but identity verification is required before performing status checks.
Identity, facial processing, and consent
Verification may require your selfie and identity document. Facial matching processes face images and derived facial identifiers through our service providers. Read the Privacy Policy and the consent information presented before submitting sensitive data. Submit only your own identity documents. For any image you upload for a status check, you must have the necessary rights and the person’s permission where required by law. Do not use Taken for covert surveillance, stalking, harassment, or checks involving minors.
Relationship information and requests
A relationship request does not change a relationship status until the other person accepts. Shared statuses, messages, and matching results can be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. They are not proof of identity, fidelity, or a person’s complete relationship history. Use judgment and communicate respectfully. We do not guarantee a match or any relationship outcome.
Acceptable use and your content
Do not impersonate others, submit fraudulent documents, threaten or harass people, post illegal or exploitative material, expose another person’s private information, bypass verification or purchase limits, scrape profiles, or attack the service. You retain ownership of your content and grant Taken the limited permission needed to store, process, and display it to provide the features you use. You must have the rights to submit that content. We may restrict content or accounts to address abuse, security issues, or legal obligations.
Free access and subscriptions
Some features are free and others require a subscription. The app displays each available plan’s benefits, usage allowance, billing period, and full localized price before purchase. Allowances are subject to the limits shown in the app and do not guarantee a successful search. A subscription does not waive identity verification. Available plans and prices may change; Apple presents applicable purchase and renewal terms.
Apple billing, renewal, and cancellation
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm a purchase. Auto-renewable subscriptions renew unless you turn off renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple may charge your account for renewal within 24 hours before that period ends. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings. Cancellation ordinarily leaves access until the paid period expires. Deleting or deactivating a Taken account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Use Restore Purchases to reconnect eligible purchases; your Taken account must be associated with the purchase. Refund requests and billing disputes for Apple purchases are handled by Apple under its policies. We do not collect your full payment-card details.
Account deactivation and deletion
The app’s account deactivation makes your account unavailable to other users in facial status searches, but does not by itself permanently erase stored data. To request permanent account and associated personal-data deletion, contact support@taken.dating from your account email. We may need to verify ownership and retain limited information where required by law or needed to resolve disputes or prevent fraud. See the Privacy Policy for retention and backup details. Cancel an Apple subscription separately if you no longer want it to renew.
Service availability and responsibility
We work to keep Taken available and secure, but outages, delayed messages, incorrect results, and loss of access can occur. To the extent allowed by applicable law, the service is provided as available without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.
Changes and contact
We may update the service and these terms. We will identify the effective date of revised terms and give notice of material changes where required. Contact support@taken.dating for support, privacy or deletion requests, or reports of unsafe use. The Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the iOS app license.

Android adult access and safety
Android dating, discovery, messaging, and relationship-status search features are available only to adults 18 and older. See our Child Safety Standards, which prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation. Request account deletion in Profile → Privacy & Security → Delete account, or use our external account deletion instructions.
Google Play billing on Android
When Android purchases are enabled, Google Play displays the price and billing period and processes payment. Recurring subscriptions renew until canceled through Google Play subscription settings. Cancellation normally preserves access until the paid period expires. Deleting or deactivating your Taken account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Restore eligible purchases using the Taken account associated with the purchase. Google handles refund requests under its policies.
